Computer Science Discoveries is an introductory computer science course for 6 - 10th grade students. Mapped to CTSA standards, the course takes a wide lens on computer science. This workshop focuses on the programming and design process used in Units 3-4. (30+ hours of PD with 4 follow-up sessions during the school year. ) 3 CPD credits. July 6-10 8:30-4:30 each day with mixed online and independent time.
The Maryland Center for Computer Education (MCCE) and Maryland Codes are offering a series of engaging computer science professional development virtual workshops this summer.
Workshops include CS Principles, CS Discoveries, CS Fundamentals, CS Principles Updates, JAVA, Python, Scratch, Artificial Intelligence and more!
The workshops will be held from June through August 2020. Please note that dates and times have changed to accommodate the transition to virtual teaching
Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis. Scholarships and funding are available. Please contact your district lead for more on eligibility.
